Students blocked tramway line in Montpellier

LanguedocLiving, Dec 10

Students from the Jules-Guesde school were occupying the tramway tracks on Lodève Avenue in Montpellier, on Monday morning, generating many delays on line 3.

The police arrived on the scene, and several objects were thrown at them.

A fire had started on the tramway line, and a nearby villa had been looted. A dozen students were arrested at the scene.

By 10am police and firefighters had extinguished the fire. A ‘precarious’ calm returned by midday.
