Support for vineyards affected by the floods

France 3/Scoop, Dec 4

The Trèbes vineyards in the Aude were hit particularly badly in the recent floods. This week Languedoc viticulturists and volunteers were showing their support by lending a hand to clean up the vines.

Christophe came from Portiragnes to lend a hand: “It’s important to help. Every time we have troubles, others come to help…no one is alone in this business, when we were in trouble, people lent a hand!”

This project, like several others, was organised and financed by an Association for agricultural businesses affected by problems. Along with the Aude agricultural chamber, they have given local winegrowers hope.

50 students from the Lycée Charlemagne in Carcassonne were also mobilised in the vineyards.

By the end of December, at least one such day is planned each week. Other projects could be extended early next year.
