Tornado in Hérault uprooted trees, damaged roofs

LanguedocLiving, Nov 9

Le Crès, east of Montpellier, had a rough night on Thursday night, Friday morning when a tornado struck. Luckily there were no casualties, but trees were uprooted, roofs were blown off, and vehicles were damaged.

The rue de Provence and the Frédéric Mistral school and Barrès bore the brunt of the tornado.

“The roof of the veranda was ripped out and ended up in the neighbour’s garden; in front of the house a 15m pine fell and blocked the street; all the tiles were torn off the neighbour’s roof,” explained Omar on France Bleu Hérault.

By 11 o’clock, a dozen interventions were made by firefighters to assess the damage.
