Toulon woman charged over supermarket attack
A 24 year old woman was charged on Tuesday over an attack which took place during the weekend in a supermarket in Seyne-sur-Mer, Var.
The woman, shouting “Allahu Akbar” attacked a customer at a checkout, and then attacked the cashier when she tried to stop the attack.
The attack happened on Sunday morning. Other supermarket customers contained the woman until the police arrived, and the victims were taken to hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Witnesses said that she had said that Allah made her do it, that the victims “were all non-believers and that she wanted police to kill her," the prosecutor's office said.
The woman has been charged with attempted murder. A spokesperson from the police said “It is apparently an isolated person with proven psychiatric disorders"
