Toulouse mountaineer climbs highest peak

France 3/Scoop, Jan 8

Vincent Saura, a 24 year old from Toulouse has climbed Aconcagua, the highest point in the Americas. It is 6,962 metres above sea level, and he did it to support the Hôpital Sourire association.

Vincent reached the summit of Aconcagua without breathing assistance or guides, he was completely alone.

He wanted to hang the flag of the association at the top because as a child, he had undergone surgery at the Purpan Children’s Hospital in Toulouse and was helped by the association.

“So when I decided to embark on this sporting challenge, it was quite natural for me that I should support the association that helped me so much.”

His adventure is being made into a film.
