Toulouse train evacuated for three hours

880 passengers were forced to disembark from the Paris-Toulouse train because of a false alarm about a suspicious package.
Passengers had to wait at La Souterraine (Creuse) station for more than three hours on Saturday.
A suspicious package alert was given Saturday at 17:15 on the Intercités Paris-Toulouse train. The ‘package’ was an abandoned suitcase, whose owner could not be located despite several calls from SNCF staff.
A helicopter arrived with a team of bomb specialists, when a passenger of the train finally recognised her own suitcase from a photo that the police were showing to passengers.
No doubt the owner of the suitcase was not very popular with the rest of the passengers, as they got back on the train after a three hour wait.
