Two children killed by drunken tractor driver

A dramatic accident occurred in Montbazens in the Aveyron this Saturday, May 19th. Two children were struck by a tractor driven by a drunken man. Both the children died. The driver of the tractor was taken into custody.

An eight-year-old boy and girl who were cycling on a road just before 6pm on Saturday, were hit by a tractor driven by a young volunteer firefighter from Paris who borrowed the tractor to do work in his holiday home.

Despite a long attempt to resuscitate the two children, rescue services pronounced them both dead at the scene.

An investigation was opened by the police, and the driver was due to be questioned on Sunday after sobering up.
