University repairs in Toulouse will double
€800,000 is the new amount for the repairs to Jean Jaurès University in Toulouse, which was blockaded by students earlier this year.
The costs are twice as much as expected, after closer scrutiny of the work required.
Cleaning the halls and the large amphitheatre, painting, repairing the toilets, changing the doors and furniture, replacing destroyed equipment … the workers have been busy all summer. The damage to the site was considerable.
The provisional administrator of the university, Richard Laganier, appointed by the minister of higher education during the conflict, is now preparing the elections for the presidency and the new governance of the university. They will take place next November.
