A bear cub was found wandering through Couflens, Ariège last week, and was put into protective care.

On Monday, the bear cub escaped, prompting a major search.

The bear weighs around 8kg, and is not dangerous to humans, but it is unlikely to survive for long if it is not found.

A team of 12, including three ONCFS wildlife experts, were searching for the animal on Monday.
