After the devastating fire on Monday night, the Cathedral structure is showing signs of weaknesses, ministers said on Tuesday.

Billionaire Bernard Arnault announced that he and the LVMH luxury conglomerate he controls would give 200 million euros for the reconstruction efforts.  The announcement was made after his rival Francoise Pinault CEO of Kering, offered 100 million euros to help “completely rebuild Notre-Dame”.  An official website has been created for smaller donations.  Here it is, if you want to contribute.

There were unconfirmed reports in the Midi Libre that the windows were miraculously saved, but the Cathedral structure is showing signs of weaknesses, ministers said on Tuesday.

The fire is being treated as accidental, as experts try to understand how the fire started.
