Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has announced an extension of the confinement of a further two weeks.

“At the end of these 10 days of confinement, we are only at the beginning of the epidemic wave.”  Philippe explained.  The confinement will now last until at least Wednesday April 15, although the general expectation is a much longer extension than two weeks.

The same rules as those in force will continue to apply.

“This period can obviously be extended, if and only if, the health situation requires it,” he continued.
