On Monday late afternoon there was a crash on the RD 6113 at the exit of Lézignan-Corbières towards Carcassonne in the Aude.
It is a salutary lesson about why you shouldn’t stop on a main road.
A small van had stopped on the road, for reasons yet to be determined. A couple were inside. Just after 5pm, a 4×4 vehicle crashed straight into the van, ejecting the couple.
Despite all the efforts of the rescuers, who arrived very quickly to the scene of this tragic accident, the couple sadly did not survive. The driver of the 4×4 had head injuries which were not life-threatening.
