A 20-month-old girl and her mother have been found dead at Rives, on the borders of Hérault and Aveyron. The woman’s partner has confessed to the police to have participated in the double murder.
In this small village of just 150 inhabitants, residents are in shock. The family, who had lived there for five years, have been described by neighbours as being quiet.
While in police custody, the man said he “participated” in the killings, suggesting that he was not alone at the time of the murder. He has a catering company in Lodève.
The couple has three children, and the two surviving boys, under 12 years of age, were said to have been in the house at the time of the tragedy.
