The water is unsuitable for drinking in Ille-sur-Têt, in the Conflent valley, between Perpignan and Prades. A bacterium was detected in the distribution network, during a control by the ARS.
Health and safety measures have been put in place, and the town hall are advising the population to boil tap water.
Two drinking water distribution points have been set up at two different sites. One at the salle des fêtes and the other at the complexe socio-culturel.
New analytical results will be announced Wednesday morning.
