Le Coin d’Art would like to invite you to the vernissage of our next exhibition of the 2019 season.  The exhibition will run from Friday 21st June to Tuesday 18th July.

The vernissage will take place on Friday 21st June at 18h.  The exhibition will present the work of 2 artists, Maggy Reynolds (landscape paintings) and Jean-Francois Pesez (ceramics).

• Maggy Reynolds comes from England where she studied fine art and showed her paintings and sculptures.  She has lived in Homps since 2003 and she participated in several collective exhibitions there which were organised by the association Berkana from 2007 – 2010.

Her artistic inquisitiveness led her to explore the disciplines of portraiture, still life, the nude and, more recently, the light and the mountainous vistas which the Minervois offers.  Her favourite medium is acrylic.  She now plays a key role in the life of the association running Le Coin d’Art, the contemporary art gallery in Olonzac, where she had an exhibition in 2016 and now she is presenting her most recent work.

• Jean-François Pesez lives close to nature and the soil.  A trip in the Amazon led him to seek out his real calling in life and gave a boost to his creativity.  He began working with clay and now creates pottery and sculpture in which the clay is given a coat of terra sigillata, fired and finally lightly smoked. His studio is based in Arles sur Tech, in Catalan country.

He describes himself as a “cache-pot-tier d’art” which could perhaps be translated as an “artistic plant pot-ter” and he has created the concept of a plant pot holder in three pieces.  He has also shown before in the Coin d’Art (in 2016) and is now presenting his latest works in stoneware as well as small statues which are concealed in the plants, inspired by the Temples of Angkor Wat.

We look forward to welcoming you to the vernissage and to the exhibition which will be open on Tuesdays (Market Day) from 9.30 – 12.00 and Sundays from 10.00-12.00 and 15.00-17.00 from Friday 21st June to Tuesday 16th July.
