Flooding has been widespread in Occitanie.

Rain, thunderstorms and high winds started on Thursday, and on Friday nine departments were placed on orange alert until at least Saturday morning.

The “Mediterranean episode” which has affected Aveyron, Gard and Lozère since Thursday also reached the reliefs of Hérault this Friday.

Winds reached up to 120 km/h, and in some areas over 180mm of rain fell.

The weather will improve during the day on Saturday. The most severe thunderstorms only concern the Alps.  Elsewhere, bright spots will emerge, and the strong winds will drop.

We can expect a calm and mostly sunny day on Sunday, with warmer temperatures.
