Homemade lemonade


If you’ve just read Leo Teatero’s article about citrus fruit, you’re probably thinking about homemade lemonade now!

Here is Leo’s recipe. Simple and delicious.


8 lemons, halved
1 lemon, finely sliced
1½ cups or 375g of white sugar


Juice halved lemons (you should have about 1½ cups).

In a small saucepan, bring sugar and1½ cups water to a simmer, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Add lemon rinds; cook over medium until mixture is syrupy, about 12 minutes.

Strain; let cool completely.

Stir in juice and 8 cups cold water. Top with ice and lemon slices and mint if you wish.
