A man in his fifties is appearing in the Gard courts this week.  He is accused of killing a 55-year-old woman, and hiding her in a sofa bed in a Nîmes apartment in 2016.

The man who appeared before the Court of Assises was a Spanish man, a former construction worker.  He has already served 11 years in a Spanish jail for his part in a drug trafficking case.

On February 14, 2016, two men discovered the corpse of a woman in the trunk of a convertible sofa in an apartment located at 33 rue bâteau d’Argent, in the centre of Nîmes, an apartment that is regularly used by squatters.  The victim was a 55-year-old woman from the Paris region. Her death was caused by extreme violence.
