Mas Bruguière is one of the longer established estates of the Pic St Loup, with Xavier Bruguière the 7th generation of the family. He makes several different Pic St Loup, with various blends and ageing.
L’Arbouse, named after the strawberry tree, is the most accessible of the range, and a blend of 60% Syrah, aged for twelve months in large barrels, and 40% Grenache Noir kept in concrete vats.
There is some elegant spice on the nose, with hints of the garrigues, with riper red fruit and spicy notes on the palate. The fruit is balanced with some tannin, with depth and youthful nuances. It is a lovely glass of wine that will continue to evolve.
