A truck driver travelling to Spain was forced to stop on the A9 yesterday near Baillargues, Hérault when his tyres exploded. The truck was authorised to carry 3.5 tonnes, but the total weight was over 8 tonnes.
The weight of the load caused the vehicles tyres to burst, which could have caused a major accident. Luckily no-one was hurt.
The Poussan police were called to the scene, and the driver was issued with nine on the spot fines of €90 each, totalling €810, and the vehicle was not allowed to be moved until it was unloaded to reach the authorised weight.
