The rise in temperatures in recent days is causing pollen to emerge. The departments of Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales have been placed on red vigilance. Gard and Hérault have been placed on orange.  The alerts are valid until at least 21 February.

The concentration of cypress pollens is very high in Occitanie, so here is some practical advice.

According to the national aerobiological monitoring network, a few good habits are enough to limit the consequences of the pollen.  Wash your hair in the evening, avoid drying the laundry outside, keep windows of cars closed to prevent pollens from entering, avoid outdoor sports activities that lead to overexposure to pollen.

If you have treatment for allergies, the advice is to start taking it now.
