For once the weather forecasters were pretty much spot on with the weather predictions for the weekend and Monday. As forecast, the temperatures plummeted, although for most of the region that happened on Sunday night / Monday, rather than on Sunday morning.
Swathes of snow have fallen in many parts of the country. Corsica is now on red alert for rain, winds, storms, snow and ice, and 28 departments are on orange alert for strong winds, ice, snow, and rain.
On Tuesday, much of Occitanie will see the sun come out, and temperatures rise slightly, which hopefully will mean that the snow will melt as quickly as it arrived.
Wednesday looks to be a wet day for most departments in Occitanie, and the winds will be back.
By Friday and Saturday, France Meteo are predicting temperatures as high as 17 degrees.
