I am full of admiration for Lidewij van Wilgen. She left a successful career in Holland to come and make wine in the Languedoc and since 2002 has successfully run Terre des Dames virtually single-handed. She makes a range of finely crafted wines. Her rosé is the wine of the moment, 2018 Diva Rosé, a blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache, half of which has been fermented in a barrel. So, this is a rosé with some weight and structure as well as some fruit, and nicely rounded on the palate. In other words, a food rosé.
During the summer, Lidewej welcomes visitors (in English) to her estate for a vineyard and cellar tour and of course a tasting, every Tuesday afternoon (except 9th August) at 16.00. The visit is free of charge and Lidewej speaks beautiful English, so do go and see for yourselves.
