The musée des Augustins in Toulouse closed its doors on Friday evening for some major renovations. It won’t be open again until Spring 2020.
The works are mainly around making the museum accessible for everyone, in particular those with reduced mobility.
Ramps and a lift will open up the museum for many who have been unable to enjoy its galleries in the past.
In addition, the windows built in the late nineteenth century will be changed, according to the architect Viollet-Le-Duc’s plans. They will allow better lighting for the masterpieces.
