Tribute to security man who died at a Christmas market

On Sunday, there was a tribute to the memory of Sofian Ayari, the young security guard who lost his life on Christmas day, crushed by a colleague’s car.

The ‘Global Protection’ society, who employed Sofian, from Tunisia, were leading the tributes to the young guard, who died at the Place de la Comedie in Montpellier, at 8am on Christmas morning.

A police investigation is under way to determine the course of events that led one of the security guards, Sofian’s colleague, to accidentally knock him down with his car. The colleague was indicted for manslaughter and placed under judicial control. Colleageus said that Sofian was a good worker, committed to his job.
