Virtually ‘zero’ trains on Thursday

Train traffic will be “almost zero” in Occitanie this Thursday, according to SNCF spokesperson Agnès Ogier.  Occitanie will be the second most affected region in France by the 5 December strike after Brittany. At a press conference on Tuesday, December 3, she announced train traffic will be hugely affected in our region.

On Thursday there will be no TERs, no Intercités and only four TGVs circulating in Occitanie.  The TGVs will be two round trips Montpellier / Lyon and two round trips Montpellier / Paris.

On a national level, the railway company will be able to ensure only 10% of the total train traffic, and only 3% of the TER (Regional Express Trains) traffic. Nevertheless, 23% of the usual regional express routes will be provided by coach throughout the country.

In Montpellier, a general assembly will meet every morning to decide what to do next.  The strike is renewable every day.
