One person died, and another was seriously injured in a Flixbus accident on the A61 near Bizanet in the Aude.  Thirty people were involved in the accident.  The bus ended up on its side in a ditch.  An investigation has opened.

On the occasion of the national day of caregivers, a fundraising campaign to set up a parents’ house at Montpellier University Hospital was launched. The idea is to help the parents of the 9,000 hospitalised children each year.

The mobilisation of emergency staff at Purpan University Hospital in Toulouse is not weakening. The strike was renewed, and several actions are scheduled as of Monday, with the highlight of the challenge on Thursday.

For one year, two students from Montpellier have lived in a “hyper-connected apartment”, on the initiative of a scientific study. The goal was to analyse their behaviour to better imagine the ideal apartment of the future. This Friday, the first results of this research were presented.

A Toulouse police woman was pushed and knocked to the ground during the gilets jaunes demonstrations this Saturday.  The attacker was caught by police, and was arrested.

On Friday, a policeman was injured while checking two people without a helmet on a scooter stolen in La Devèze, Béziers. The driver hit the police officer, who hung on to the bike and was dragged several meters.

A rally was organised this Saturday, against the partial closure of the post office at Capendu, Aude. The mayor and his supporters want to prevent the closure of one of the essential places in the life of the community.

The sixth edition of the Colour Me Rad race was to be held this Sunday, October 6 at the Ramée leisure centre near Toulouse. It was cancelled due to the arrival of 500 travellers’ caravans.

In Alès, a march was organised on Saturday to pay tribute to Marie-Bélen, the student from Algeria killed last March in a Marseille subway station for her mobile phone.

Former members of the Blagnac boxing club near Toulouse have been imprisoned for kidnapping.  Three former members of the Blagnac Boxing Club were arrested last week. They allegedly participated in the kidnapping of a man in Reims and Germany.

According to a Mediapart survey released on Thursday, Lozère MP Pierre Morel-À-L’Huissier has been reimbursed for “imaginary expenses” with public money.

A pedestrian was fatally hit by a car on the way back from a discotheque in Magalas.  He was hit on the D909 near Laurens while he was walking back to Bedarieux.  The 27 year old driver was tested for alcohol, and was found to be over the limit.  He was promptly arrested.  The 35 year old pedestrian sadly died at the scene.

A vulture landed on a police car this weekend.  While the vehicle was parked at the side of the RN125 in Chaum, Haute Garonne, a vulture landed on the car.  The driver did not lose his cool and was able to take a picture of the bird.
