There is an initiative in Montpellier to provide boxes of free hygienic tampons and pads, for needy students, women below the poverty line, and homeless women.  The Association and donors provide the products in boxes around the city, and needy women can help themselves.

Cauterets ski resort in the Pyrenees is awaiting one metre of fresh snow this weekend.  In a few days 50cm of snow has already fallen on the ski slopes at Cauterets at 1800m altitude.

Is degue fever spreading in Occitanie?  Since May 1, 2019, 101 imported dengue cases have been confirmed in the region. At the end of summer 2019, for the first time in Occitanie, an indigenous case was suspected.

The ARS (regional health agency) has reported several cases of measles in Occitanie, and in the department of Lot in particular.  Among the twenty patients, the majority have not been vaccinated.

Four people have been imprisoned in Uzès, after the dismantling of a drug trafficking ring.  Three minors were also indicted.

The mayor of Seix, Ariège, Christine Tequi, was elected as the president of the departmental council of Ariège.  She replaces socialist Henri Nayrou, who resigned to general surprise last October.

The Mayor of Béziers, Robert Ménard, was at a briefing for parents of students of the school that was badly damaged by arson.  He announced deadlines regarding the construction of the new school after the arson attack.  The school won’t be ready until September 2021.

Gilles Bertin, a former French punk rocker turned bank robber has died.  He organised the robbery of Brink’s in Toulouse in 1988.  After 30 years on the run, the Haute-Garonne police finally caught up with him and he was sentenced to five years in jail in 2018.

Airbus and China announced a strengthening of their partnership. Both parties pledge to deepen and broaden their industrial cooperation in the aeronautical sector.
